Draw Something

Another game or App. I have been playing recently is Draw Something, it is like Pictionary. You draw one of 3 options and your opponent has letters and has to guess the word from your drawing. I randomly select an opponent and they vary from being useless, can't spell, can't draw types to others that are terrific. It took me a while to discover how to delete the annoying players, some just write the word, and that they don't do well. Maybe some are only 2 year olds, I cant believe the lack of spelling skills shown by others, I have had "Flour" drawn as a "Flower",! But I now delete opponents that do not come up to scratch.
I can't believe I am playing with people from Australia, Isreal, U.K. I have yet to find a random Irish player.
I would love to feature some of the drawings I get, but it would be too complicated to ask permission so here are a few of my offerings. I justify the time wasting element of this game by considering it drawing practice.
                                                                    This is my "Puddle"

You can see I get a bit carried away, but its the drawing part I enjoy rather that guessing the word, especially as some of the words might be cartoon characters or celebrities, both topics I am clueless about. If you play maybe we could connect. Better go check if its my turn to Draw Something.

Paper 53

I have not being painting for a while, but with deadlines looming I hope to get back to it in earnest shortly. It is the "starting" I find difficult, once I begin there is no dragging me away, just to get over the hump of blank canvas and wondering what to do is always a challenge.
I have been busy doodling and without wasting  paper. When I am on the phone all paper within my reach will be covered with spirals and other marks, In fact I will prepare to have paper and pen at the ready before I make a call, I can't phone chat with out scribbling
I have been trying the App. Paper 53 and while not totally at ease with it yet here are some of my efforts.

The water colour brush makes such nice marks, I wonder will I ever put a brush into water again, when I can get a better effect with less effort. I wonder will the process effect me when I return to having a brush or pencil between me and the paper rather than just my finger tip on a touch screen?.

Water water everywhere!

I had taken these photographs and written the piece below a couple of weeks ago and when I went to post it I could not find the pictures, I thought I had moved them from  Dropbox into a file but they were no where to be found, I was so annoyed at my stupidity at misplacing them! and wasted much time in search of them. However I had taken them with my i-pad and last night found that they were also in "Photos" on that device, so joy of joy, so here they are 2 weeks late and no longer relevant,  we have moved on weather and season wise, more of that here

More weather, as I said it is our main concern here where winter still goes on, we have missed Spring and now we wonder if there will be a Summer. This is Oughterard, which is a busy village in May due to its close proximity to Lough Corrib where anglers flock for the mayfly, they better not plan on having a picnic.

And so to June, we are having a "heat wave" at least to Irish standards, and this is while some of central Europe are experiencing widespread flooding, what is happening our climate? Yesterday I was at the beach and took some lovely pictures but now I can't get them onto the computer!! I think its time to do some updating here on my aging laptop and camera and maybe the user as well could get an update/makeover!
