Stockholm.

The holidays are over and we are back to the rain. I wonder the merits of taking a break at all, as it is so difficult to get back into a routine again when you get home. Already Stockholm seems a distant memory. It is a beautiful city and we really enjoyed it. It is full of Museum's and Galleries and I got to visit a few of them. My favorite was The Thiel Gallery a house built by Ernest Thiel for his extensive art collection. it is situated the far end of Djurgarden, an island that we cycled around.
I was not allowed take pictures there, so my first holiday snap is of something I over indulged in......FOOD!

We also visited Drottningholm Palace
the official home of the Swedish Royal Family.

The grounds surrounding the Palace were spectacular,
I especially liked The Lime Walk and The Chinese Pavilion.
Swedish good taste and sense of design was everywhere even in their floral displays.

With the  digital camera I take 100's of pictures rather than the old fashioned roll of film, I won't post them with them all here, I know that looking at other peoples holiday snaps can be boring! Enough to say that I was very impressed with Stockholm, there was so much to see and do and the Swedish people were so friendly. We stayed in The Mornington Hotel, which I would highly recommend.
Not wanting to bore you............. but just a few more photos!
And there are more..........

Illustration Friday, Gesture

I did a series a while ago on body language and  gestures. Here is a collage from that collection, I made it after watching a nervous colleague give a presentation, she held her note book protectively across the body like a shield, an interesting unconscious gesture.

New Quay, Co. Clare

I dropped some of my Fine Art prints down to Stefania at The Russell Gallery in New Quay, Co Clare.
It is in a beautiful spot and well worth a visit if you are close by.
I took these pictures while I was there.

These pictures were taken a few days ago,
Yes July!
You can see the wild Atlantic looks uninviting for a dip!
