I was not allowed take pictures there, so my first holiday snap is of something I over indulged in......FOOD!
We also visited Drottningholm Palace
the official home of the Swedish Royal Family.
The grounds surrounding the Palace were spectacular,
I especially liked The Lime Walk and The Chinese Pavilion.
Swedish good taste and sense of design was everywhere even in their floral displays.
With the digital camera I take 100's of pictures rather than the old fashioned roll of film, I won't post them with them all here, I know that looking at other peoples holiday snaps can be boring! Enough to say that I was very impressed with Stockholm, there was so much to see and do and the Swedish people were so friendly. We stayed in The Mornington Hotel, which I would highly recommend.
Not wanting to bore you............. but just a few more photos!
And there are more..........
We took the "30 minute walk around Sodermalm" from the Eyewitness Travel book on Stockholm and it was delightful. It is less touristy and the the area is full of Galleries and bespoke shops, It offers the best views over the city from Blecktornsgrande, and it finishes at Zinkensdamm area where there are summer allotments, a delightful peaceful place in the heart of a city.
