On my easel this week.

At the moment I am working on a series of paintings for an exhibition in June. This is the painting currently on my easel.  I have had a couple of busy weeks and have had little time to spend in my studio. I hope to get allot more time in April so that I won't be under pressure at the eleventh hour, although pressure sometimes brings on my best work.

This picture is almost complete, it has a recurring theme of mine, a homestead with the shelter belt of conifers protecting it from the elements, a typical west of Ireland farm holding. In the foreground is a gorse bush, they usually have a vivid yellow flower but this one has no blooms as it was burnt/scorched last autumn. Much bog-land was burnt last year due to very dry weather, ruining many acres of the wildlife habitat.
